Pet x-rays are routinely used to provide valuable information about a pet’s bones, gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, heart, and genitourinary system.
At Timberlake Veterinary Hospital, we perform x-rays to evaluate a wide range of conditions, including bone fractures, tumors, foreign objects, and internal organ abnormalities. Veterinary x-ray, also known as radiography, is a diagnostic imaging technique using electromagnetic radiation to produce images of the inside of an animal’s body.
X-rays are generally considered safe for animals; however, the animal may be sedated or anesthetized to keep them still during the procedure and reduce stress. Our veterinarian reviews the x-ray images to diagnose any abnormalities or injuries.
